Terms & Conditions
The rules that keep things fair, simple, and safe for everyone.
Last updated: April 18, 2026
Welcome to Don'tForgetDad. By downloading or using our app and related services, you agree to these terms. If any of this doesn't sit right with you, don't use the app. Simple as that.
1. What the App Does
Don'tForgetDad helps families coordinate medication reminders, track health data, and stay connected with loved ones. The Service includes, among other things: medication management (schedules, doses, instructions, and images you add); shared family profiles linked with join or invite codes; smart reminders and missed-dose alerts to connected caregivers; real-time sync across devices; an in-app AI Health Assistant (natural-language chat, medication packaging scan, drug information lookups, adherence and schedule questions, weekly-style summaries, journal help, suggested prompts, in-chat search, streamed replies where available, and optional food-photo calorie and macro estimates that you choose whether to save); voice journaling with transcription and optional reminder detection; health logs such as blood pressure, asthma (including peak flow), weight and height (including BMI where you enter height), and glucose; PDF health reports you can export or share; gamification (XP, streaks, milestones, optional events or quests); and Premium features such as streak freeze, extended history, priority support, and advanced family analytics where offered. Sign-in may be available with Google, Apple, or email. The app is offered on iOS and Android and supports many languages.
2. Who Can Use It
- You need to be at least 13 years old. If you're under 18, get permission from a parent or guardian first.
- You can create or manage profiles for other people, but only with their knowledge and consent. Don't set up a profile for someone who doesn't know about it.
- The app is for personal, non-commercial use only unless we agree otherwise in writing.
3. Your Account
You can sign in with Google, Apple, or email. Keep your login credentials secure. You're responsible for everything that happens under your account, so don't share your password. If you think someone has accessed your account without permission, contact us right away.
4. Your Responsibilities
- Make sure the medication names, dosages, and schedules you enter are accurate. The app relies on what you tell it.
- Reminders are a helpful backup, not a replacement for talking to your family or consulting a doctor.
- Don't misuse join codes, try to access other people's data, or tamper with the app.
- If you use the AI Health Assistant, medication scanner, drug information features, or food-photo calorie or macro estimates, understand that AI and computer vision can make mistakes. Estimates are not medical nutrition therapy. Always verify medications and health decisions with a qualified professional.
- Voice journal entries, health logs, and images you submit are your responsibility to keep accurate.
5. AI Health Assistant
The app includes an in-app AI Health Assistant (chat and related tools) that can help with medication management, packaging scans, drug information, schedules and history questions, summaries, journaling, optional meal or calorie estimates, and similar features. Processing is primarily through Firebase AI (Gemini). Depending on version, region, or documented configuration (including optional self-hosted setups), a fallback or auxiliary model (for example Ollama where we describe it) may process your prompts instead of or alongside Google’s APIs. A few things to know:
- The assistant is not a doctor, nurse, pharmacist, dietitian, or therapist. Outputs are informational and for convenience only.
- Medication scanner: AI reads packaging photos to suggest names, doses, or schedules. It can be wrong — always confirm before you approve saving anything.
- Food photos and calories: Estimates of calories or macros from photos are approximate, can be wrong, and are not a substitute for professional dietary or medical advice.
- The assistant may read medication, journal, and health data you already store in the app so answers stay relevant. It does not broadcast that data outside the Service except as described in our Privacy Policy (for example to AI or cloud providers that power the feature).
- Approval-based actions: Adding or changing medications, saving journal entries, or logging approved nutrition entries only takes effect after you confirm (for example via action cards).
- We log AI interactions for quality, safety, and debugging. See our Privacy Policy for details.
6. Subscriptions and Payments
- Don'tForgetDad has both free and paid tiers. The free version covers the basics. Premium unlocks features such as streak freeze, extended history, priority support, and the family dashboard with advanced analytics where offered in the app.
- Paid subscriptions are billed through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. Pricing and renewal terms are shown clearly in the app before you buy.
- You can cancel your subscription anytime through your app store account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
- We don't process payments directly and never see your credit card information.
7. Health Data & Reports
The app lets you log blood pressure readings, asthma episodes (including peak flow where supported), weight and height (including BMI where you choose to enter height), glucose readings, mood, and journal entries (including optional nutrition-related fields when you save them). You can generate PDF health reports that combine medication adherence, journal entries, health logs, and optional AI-written summaries. Reports are for personal use and should not replace professional medical records. Share them with your clinician if helpful — they are not a diagnosis.
8. Gamification
You earn XP and build streaks for taking medications on time. You can unlock badges and milestones, and there may be occasional events or quests. Optional or preview features (such as experimental leaderboards) may appear only in certain builds and are not guaranteed. Gamification is meant to encourage habits — it is not a clinical measure of compliance, and missing a streak has no medical or legal meaning outside the app.
9. Notifications and Reminders
Push notifications remind you about medication times. We also send missed dose alerts to connected caregivers. You're responsible for keeping notifications turned on if you want reminders to work. Notifications are a nudge, not a guarantee. We can't be held responsible if a notification doesn't arrive due to your device settings, network issues, or system limitations.
10. Data & Privacy
We handle your data with care and don't sell it. Your data is stored on Firebase (Google) and processed using their security standards, including for authentication, sync, notifications, analytics, and Firebase AI (Gemini) where you use the assistant. For the full picture, read our Privacy Policy.
11. What We're Not Responsible For
We work hard to keep the app reliable, but we can't guarantee it'll work perfectly 100% of the time. Specifically:
- Don'tForgetDad is not a medical service. Don't use it as a substitute for professional medical advice.
- We're not liable for missed reminders, incorrect AI responses, data entry errors, or health outcomes.
- If the app goes down temporarily for maintenance or due to issues beyond our control, we're not liable for any inconvenience that causes.
- AI features — including the medication scanner, drug information, chat answers, and food-photo calorie or macro estimates — can produce errors. Always verify with a qualified professional.
12. Account Suspension or Termination
We can suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms, interfere with other users, or misuse the app. We'll try to give you notice, but we reserve the right to act immediately if the situation demands it.
13. Intellectual Property
The app, its design, code, AI models integration, content, and branding belong to us. You get a license to use the app for its intended purpose. You can't copy, reverse-engineer, or redistribute any part of it.
14. Changes to These Terms
We'll update these terms as the app grows. If the changes matter, we'll let you know through the app or by email. Keeping the app installed and using it after an update means you accept the new terms.
